Water/Sewer Technician I or II
Cedar River Water & Sewer District is looking for a dedicated, hard-working individual to join our team as a Full Time Water/Sewer Maintenance Technician. Cedar River offers a competitive salary, excellent benefits and a great work environment.
Salary: Tech I: $33.95 - $44.10/hr. DOE
Tech II: $38.65 - $50.20/hr. DOE
Holidays: 11 Paid Holidays & 1 Personal Day
Vacation: 8 Hours per month (increases after 5 years)
Sick Leave: 8 Hours per month
Bereavement: 24 hours per year
Retirement: WA State PERS & Deferred Comp. (optional)

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining the District’s water and sewer systems, which includes water and sewer mains, service lines, fire hydrants, pump stations, lift stations, and reservoirs.
- Meter reading/maintenance may also be assigned.

Requirements |
Physical Requirements & Abilities:
- Working in all types of weather conditions.
- Standing, sitting, climbing, crouching, stooping, kneeling, walking, working within confined spaces and at extreme heights.
- The ability to perform strenuous physical labor, including digging, climbing in and out of trenches and manholes, and the ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Extensive use of hands, eyes, ears, arms and voice.
- The ability to use hand & power tools.
- Must possess basic math skills, and a familiarity with computers.
- Water and/or sewer experience is preferred but not required.
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Minimum Experience/Education:
- A valid Washington State Driver's License and acceptable driving record are required.
- Requires high school diploma or high school GED.
- Ability to obtain the following within two years of employment.
Washington State Commercial Driver’s License
w/Class-A with Tanker Endorsement
Industrial First Aid - CPR Card
Washington State Flagging & Traffic Control Card
Asbestos-Cement Pipe Certification
Water Distribution Manager-1 Certification
Additional Requirements for Maintenance Technician II:
- Requires 5 years of related experience in the water/sewer utility industry.
- Current training and certifications:
Washington State Commercial Driver’s License
w/Class-A with Tanker Endorsement
Industrial First Aid - CPR Card
Washington State Flagging & Traffic Control Card
Asbestos-Cement Pipe Certification
Water Distribution Manager-1 Certification
Cross Connection Control Specialist Certification
Wastewater Collection Specialist-1 Certification
