MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN
Lakehaven Water and Sewer District has an immediate opening for one Maintenance Electrician from ranges I, II, III or IV.  Applicants should apply for the Maintenance Electrician level they are qualified.

A Maintenance Electrician I, II, III or IV performs a variety of tasks at an intermediate to high skill level to maintain and install electrical equipment, MCC’c, VFD’s, Control Panels and controls, and performs various electrical tasks at all District water and wastewater facilities. Maintenance Electricians must demonstrate the ability to operate basic VOM digital meters, amp meters, megger meters, power monitoring equipment, and electrical diagnostic equipment; have a high level of competence in electrical theory and understanding of the NEC and applicable electrical codes; and be proficient at troubleshooting a variety of electrical equipment and controls. Higher level Maintenance Electricians may participate in the design/review of electrical controls and installations for Water and Wastewater facilities.

Requirements Maintenance Electrician I (Level 11):
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have an Electrical Trainee Card from Washington State at time of hire or other WA State Specialty License is desired, but not required. A combination of related experience or education which clearly demonstrates competency, may be substituted for this requirement.
  • Two (2) years of experience in an industrial electrical environment (i.e. installing conduit, wire pulling, MCC installation, VFD's, and electrical maintenance). Preferable experience in the water and/or wastewater industry, but not required. Two (2) years of experience in HVAC controls is desired but not required.
  • Must obtain within one (1) year from initial employment, any required certifications or licenses applicable to the utility; i.e., First Aid Training, Certified Flagging Safety, etc.
  • Basic skills in electrical construction practices in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to operate basic VOM digital meters, amp meters, and meggers.
  • Basic skills in electrical theory and understanding of the NEC and applicable electrical codes.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills to diagnose electrical problems.
  • Understands job procedures, rules, safety, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and read and record measurements.
