Utility Maintenance Worker Level 1 or 2
Annual Salary Ranges:
Level 1: $66,733 to $98,386 DOE;
Level 2: $79,247 to $116,834 DOE;
This position entails regular and recurring installation,
repair, and maintenance work in the District’s water and
sewer systems. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
• Installs, services, and repairs all District water and sewer
facilities, system components, vehicles, and equipment,
including operation of vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Taps water and sewer mains for connections; repairs street
curbs, streets, and sidewalks impacted by operations.
• Locates, inspects, and performs necessary repairs on new and
existing water and sewer services and components.
• Ensures on-site safety compliance during field operations.
• Processes work orders; assists in final project inspections.
• Reads water meters; assists staff in meter re-reads; checks for
indications of leaks and advises customers accordingly.
• Works with other District staff to perform service
disconnection, water meter lock outs, and re-connections.
• Responds to emergency call outs and after-hours support.
