JOB OPPORTUNITY – Construction Program Manager

The Alderwood Water & Wastewater District (AWWD) seeks qualified Construction Program Manager to lead the Construction Management and Inspection team, a key element of the Engineering & Development department.  This new position will perform core roles in planning and managing the inspection and construction of developer and capital infrastructure projects for a regional water and wastewater utility.
AWWD’s 45-square mile service area covers portions of multiple jurisdictions and is a critical link between the county’s major water source (City of Everett), direct customers, and a group of retail water providers. The District also collects sewage from multiple jurisdictions for treatment at our own wastewater treatment plant and to King County. A desire to participate and contribute to the development and renewal of this critical public service is foundational to a career at AWWD.
The Engineering & Development Department is hiring a new full-time team member to work on activities that include:
? Manage the 10-member Construction Management & Inspection Division
? Oversee workloads and team member project assignments
? Advance Division by revising updating standards, procedures, developing metrics
? Train, mentor and develop staff; ensure quality controls
? Participate in sewer main, water main and pump station design and contracting
? Oversee complex construction projects and contracts; select consultants as needed
? Develop and administer budgets
The quality control and documentation focus of our construction management and inspection positions are critical to support the resiliency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of AWWD’s infrastructure. This position will work closely with the Capital Program Manager, Development Program Manager and the Maintenance & Operations Department to implement infrastructure growth and renewal projects.
The ideal candidates will have a strong background in water and wastewater construction inspection, contract management and project management. Knowledge of and experience with the operation and maintenance of a water and wastewater utility is highly desirable. Positions will be filled at the skill level and experience of the applicant. Successful candidates will have excellent communication skills and will regularly interact with a wide variety of our customers, consultants and partners, including neighboring city and district staff and managers, county and state staff, as well as AWWD’s own management and Board.
Annual Salary:
Construction Program Manager: $125,403 to $168,064 annually
Starting range: $125,403-$145,204

Eight years of progressively responsible construction management, civil (or related) engineering experience, supervisory experience and a Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering or related field.  Experience may be substituted for a degree.
