Wastewater Ops Operator I/II

Lakehaven Water and Sewer District has immediate openings for a Treatment Plant Operator in our Wastewater Operations Department. Applications will be accepted for any level in the position range shown below.

A Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator performs and assists in many tasks associated with the operations and maintenance of the District’s two wastewater treatment facilities, including both minor and major maintenance, repairs, and replacement of equipment and/or construction of structures. Assigned duties include but are not limited to: data collection, water quality monitoring/treatment and sampling, process control work, grounds/building maintenance, piping/valve/pump repairs and other preventative and corrective maintenance duties within the facilities.

Lakehaven has a service area population of over 135,000 people living across a 35 square mile area in south King County, makings us one of the largest special-purpose water and sewer districts in the state. Our water system includes 450 miles of water mains, 25 active wells and 12 storage tanks, which allows us to meet a current annual average water demand of 10 million gallons per day (MGD) from the community. Lakehaven also has two wastewater treatment plants, 33 sewer lift stations, and 350 miles of sewer mains capable of collecting and treating up to 15.6 MGD. Requirements The successful candidate should have some of the following:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Prior wastewater internship experience is desired.
• Wastewater Operator Certification Course – Must submit proof of enrollment prior to interview.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems, gauges, meters, and control panels.
• Any certifications or licenses applicable to the utility, i.e. CPR/First Aid Training, Certified Flagging, Confined Space Entry, etc. must be obtained within on (1) year of initial employment.
• A valid Washington State Competency certificate as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator In Training – Group I.
