The Opportunity: HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
The
Alderwood Water & Wastewater District (AWWD) is accepting applications for a
Human Resources Manager within the Administrative Services Department.
The Alderwood Water & Wastewater District (AWWD) is seeking a Manager for its HR work group. Located in the midst of the fast-growing Puget Sound region, AWWD is increasing its staffing levels to handle both the expansion and replacement of its infrastructure. With its current 147-employee staff budgeted to grow and given AWWD’s commitment to employee training and development, the next HR Manager will play a vital role in moving the organization’s efforts forward. This position will supervise two HR Analyst positions, one of which will be dedicated to training coordination and development. The group will also be responsible for recruitment and selection, benefits administration, compensation analysis, employee engagement and relations, collective bargaining, and performance management practices.
The ideal candidate will have experience leading an HR work group within the public sector. This individual will have acquired hands-on expertise in managing recruitment and selection processes, salary surveys, job analysis, collective bargaining, employee relations, employee training and development, and work performance evaluation. The obtainment of an HR-related certification is desired and demonstrates a commitment to one’s career as a HR professional. Continuous process evaluation of and continual improvement to our business work processes are goals and expectations throughout the entire organization.
The outgoing incumbent in this position successfully prioritize the multiple demands of providing a wide variety of HR expertise to a work force that is situated at three different work sites, two of which are located within a quarter of a mile of each other. A commitment to employee outreach at each of those locations in order to meet with employees will serve the selected candidate in this position well in the years to come.

The pay range for this position is
$113,630 - $152,339 annually, with a starting pay range of
$113,630 - $131,601, dependent upon experience and qualifications.
The Alderwood Water & Wastewater District provides an array of employee benefits that we feel contribute to an overall desirable compensation package for employees. While employed with AWWD, you will participate in the Washington State PERS retirement program. We also offer a 457 deferred compensation plan with a 4% employer match (2022 adopted amount and subject to annual change), voluntary participation in a ROTH IRA plan, a medical benefit opt-out incentive paid into a Retirement Health Savings account, two options for health and welfare benefits (one plan at no cost to employees and one plan with a 6% employee premium share (2022 adopted amount and subject to annual change)), dental and vision plans for full-time regular employees at no employee expense, access to EAP services, a robust Wellness program, participation in a Commute Trip Reduction program and Employee Assistance program.
